Subjective Maps of Leeuwarden

Series of six subjective maps of the city of Leeuwarden, autumn 2013

As part of De Reis2018, six Frisian designers have made a series of Subjective maps of Leeuwarden. It is a project that appeals to the imagination, in which Frisian designers and artists, together with local communities, map Leeuwarden in a personal way. They do not approach Leeuwarden from a geological perspective but from a "geo-poetic" view. The initiators want to stimulate and nourish the conversation about the contemporary identity of Leeuwarden. The maps offer people the opportunity to view the city from a new perspective and make surprising discoveries.

The Subjective Maps of Leeuwarden were realized as part of De Reis2018, a project of Lwd2018, based on a concept by DEVET.
