New Urgencies

Installation, MAD Brussels, summer 2018

The series of short statements New Urgencies is composed for the exhibition ‘OCCUPATION: DESIGNER’, at the invitation of the curators Walter Bettens, Siegrid Demytteneare and Kurt Vanbelleghem. This collection of notion-shifts is a proposition for a new vocabulary within the design field.

MARKET MARCHÉ MARKT

This MARKET is developed as a contribution for the exhibition ‘OCCUPATION: DESIGNER’ – at MAD Brussels. MARKET is an artistic and social statement about current urgencies in the design practice, where designers design contextual and relational. They are not focused on ‘the things in itself’ but on the cycles of things, with a critical view on the politics of materiality, production and economy. With MARKET de Vet shows what makes a society resilient, and thus, hopes to contribute to a critical awareness of the position of the designer.
